The diploma is suitable for people who aspire to work in a technical and professional accounting role with management responsibility.
The diploma develops the knowledge and skills required by a senior accounting professional who has responsibility for:
*The daily book-keeping and accounting duties
*To provide robust data to support the business in their decision making process and long-term organisational stability and growth
The structure of the diploma consists of a range of mandatory and optional qualifications, which have been designed to provide the learner with a dynamic learning experience covering the broad range of subjects that you would expect to undertake at this level.
The diploma equates to approximately 650 guided learning hours (GLH) with an additional 600 student learning hours (SLH), providing total notional learning hours of 1,250.
Structure
The diploma will allow the student flexibility and choice in the selection of modules that they undertake. Students are expected to complete five single unit qualifications, which consist of three mandatory modules and two optional modules, which can be selected from a pool of four qualifications. All the qualifications which feature in this diploma can be taken as standalone qualifications, or together to form the Level 4 Diploma in Accounting and Finance.
The size of each individual qualification is determined by its guided learning hours and the use of ‘Certificate’ or ‘Award. These descriptors provide guidance on the recommended learning hours and do not reflect on the difficulty level. Where the recommended GLH for a qualification is 140-160, the qualification will be identified as a ‘Certificate’, where the recommended GLH is 40-60 the qualification is an ‘Award’.
